Create a Classroom Campfire!
My students really enjoy camping day each year. I save this special day for the last week of school, but it really can be done at any point. The kids favorite part of the day is sitting around the classroom campfire to read their campfire stories! Set up is super easy!
First, color and cut out some logs.
Next, rumple up a bunch of yellow and/or orange construction paper. This will serve as the fire.
Finally, place a flashlight under the construction paper to light up the fire. I have even stuck my iPhone under it and turned my phone flashlight on. Works like a charm!!!! Turn out the lights and have your children sit around the classroom fire in a circle to read their stories. I let my kids choose their topics from silly stories to ghost stories. They love it!
